Annual Dinner Dance
The club had a very enjoyable dinner and presentation
night in the Hilgrove Hotel Monaghan on Saturday night past with a very large
turn out of youth and old pro cyclists having a thoroughly entertaining evening.
Emyvale C.C. Club chairman Paul Gormley was Master of ceremonies on the night ably assisted by club secretary Michael Mc Kenna.
Paul and got the evenings speeches off to a great start delivering the accolades to all cyclists of the club and individuals in fine style.
Paul welcomes our guest from Omagh C.C, Fintona C.C Lakeland C.C and a very special word for our sponsors for the year of 2005-2006 Martina and Francie Mc Quaid from Mc Quaid Tyres, Lorraine and Aiden Murphy representing Murphy Agri-Plant & Hire, Anna and Fergus Murray Representing Universal-Graphics, Tommy Martin Fuels and Town of Monaghan co-op and last but not least Adam Mc Kenna from Adams hair Saloon

The most improved cyclist of the year award and this went to Daniel
Douglas. Daniel is developing into a very strong cyclist and will no doubt
will be a talent to watch in the coming yearsSo well done Daniel.

Clubman of the Year: (Manchester
Heritage Centre Trophy)
Clubman of the year went to the ever popular
and every ready Barry Cassidy. When there is work to be done Barry is
never to far away and his effective contribution to the club over 2005 was
recognised with clubman of the year-So well-done Barry.
The club would like to thank the Hillgrove Hotel for
providing the meal.
Peader Mc Mahon photographs on the evening and Packie Mc Gee and family for
providing his very own blend of music. Finally a big thanks to all the club
members and guests who provided spot-prizes on the night and to the tickets
sellers who all contribute to a great evening for the club.
Easter Draw
Tickets are now out for our Easter Draw
The club would like all members to take 10 books each.
Club chairman Paul Gormley stated that. This draw has been running at the club down through the years and has kept our club alive in lean times so the club committee would like everybody to put in a big effort this time around to selling these tickets. Please contact the club Secretary Michael Mc Kenna were he will provide you with books of tickets or any other club member.
St Patricks Day Parade
The club will be entering a float in this
year parade that is taking place in Monaghan town.
There will be more details in the coming weeks.
Touring Notes
The morning after the night before
saw a turn out of 30 cyclists in the Mc Quaid Colours at the Scarna inn for
our usual Sunday morning spin the group went in the direction of Tydavnet,
Knocktallon, Roslea, Clones, Monaghan and back to Emyvale.Pantin Hughes started
a race going up the hill pass the police station in Roslea and that was the
end of the touring for that day. I got home Sunday at dark!!!!!!
Our intention is to keep club members up to date with the goings on within
the
club, as well as keeping past members and indeed anyone else who
interested.
We would also appreciate it if you would send us feedback and of course
anything youd like to see on the site.
